profile Yvonne
first became involved in photography as a child helping her father in his
home darkroom. She developed
her photographic skills as a teenager, eventually becoming photography
editor of her school yearbooks. Further
training at Sheridan College and many years of documenting the growth of her
four daughters led her to open her own studio in Oakville, Ontario in
1999. Using
both medium format and 35mm equipment, Yvonne’s preferred medium is
black and white for it’s classic, timeless quality and it’s ability to
let the personality of the subject shine through.
Some images are selectively hand coloured for a unique look. Yvonne
puts her success down to two guiding principles; an open, unhurried
approach to her subjects and a huge amount of patience. Yvonne’s
other passion is travel, particularly in Asia. |
